Omega Polish a PO-11817 -

Hey all. Have a 42 PO that is in very good to excellent condtion that has just stolen all of my wrist time. I just absoultly love this watch. Question is the band and case is starting to show some wear...has anyone had this watch repolished? How were the results, was it worth the $? The jeweler I go to said he would have to send the watch to a guy located in an off site closed store to give me a price. Then he said he thought the watch was in great shape for almost a daily worn watch. Maybe hes right...but of course I notice all the details

Are trends in watches based on marketing and mental conditioning? id="post_message_74779">There was a time when as far as I recall, most folk bought a plain simple watch with a dial, hands and hour markers. You know, the classical, dress-style watch. Then came the diver and more consumer uptake in chronographs, the wrist computer, all of which I think have taken " market share " as it were from the classical design.

What if, instead of the divers' bezel, say the chronograph or GMT become the thing on a watch to have? Based on the belief that more divers' watches are sold than any other, I'm asking if this is a trend created by marketing and thus mental conditioning. I'm not saying we're playing ' follow the leader ' merely asking why it is we seem to like certain styles.

Omega Advice on a strap for my SeMPC Ti (ref.2298.80)-11995 -

Hi guys,

Long time no see :)

I recently acquired this SeMPC Ti after I talked with Bill Sohne and read his article about The Chuck Maddox Homage watch.

Now, as I do want to give this watch some wrist time, I would like to get a rubber strap for this one. Original Omega and with folding clasp. I noticed a few for sale on the website we all know, but didn't see the ref.2298.80 between the 'fitting' models. I am not particularly fond of the 'Bond'-bracelet, as I think it is a bit out-dated (introduced in 1993) with all the links. However, it feels & wears great though.

Which ref strap and folding clasp do I need for this model?
